Beauty Tips - Looking Thinner In Photographs

I cannot even begin to describe and tell you how many photographs I have torn, and burned and for the more recent digital one, deleted forever. Now don't look at me like someone who has gone crazy, instead look at me like someone who is vain, because that is what I am. These destroyed photographs were all of me looking either fat or just downright ugly. Most women want to look hot or at least pretty in photographs, but how is this to happen with bulges and double chins.

How many times have I complained to my boyfriend or friend that I want to look like those gorgeous models on fashion magazine covers. Let's just say these comments of mine were not taken seriously by anyone. But then one day I saw the light (no I am not dead and have not seen the light to another world) and realized that there was a way out, that there was a way to look thinner (not by airbrushing mind you like all those fashion magazines). And finally my ongoing battle with the camera can end.

It's all about posing right, standing with the right posture and sucking in your gut. Here are the 'secrets' for looking thinner in photographs...
  • While standing, preferably stand sideways. Place one foot in front of the other with the toes pointed towards the camera and balancing your weight on your back foot. This will give an appearance of being slimmer than you are.
  • There is nothing worse than a double chin. All that skin hanging under your face is just not flattering. To avoid a double chin pull your face slightly forwards and tilt it upwards a bit.
  • Another problem area are your arms, all that jiggling fat isn't flattering. To keep the flab from being prominent, stand with your arms away from the body, they will appear less flabby.
  • A great help is posture. You must have the right posture for a great slim picture. Stand with your shoulders pulled back, stomach sucked in and chest thrown out a bit. But don't make it prominent. You don't want to look like someone is holding a gun to your head and asking you to stand straight.
  • Now let's come to the smile. Most of us end up with fake plastered smiles on our face. And let's face it, that's just not great. We all want to pretend like we look perfect even when caught unawares. The best way to do that is pretend like you are looking away from the camera and then last minute do the head flip and smile. You will look fresh and dazzling.
  • If you want to hide certain areas of your body, hold an item in front of that part like a bag or a jacket or a corsage.
  • Never let the person photograph you from below, you will just look 40 pounds heavier on top of the 10 that the camera normally adds.
  • And yes do not forget to invest in fake tans or corsets that will make you look so much slimmer. Also remember that solid colors make you look thinner and so does black the all time favorite.
Photographs stay forever, capturing a memory that is mostly always, special. Everyone wants to look great in these captured memories, and now you know how to do just that, isn't it?
