Natural Hair Styles
Many black women tend to use a lot of straightening treatments which are very harsh to the hair and scalp health. Also, continuous hair perming or use of hair relaxer or even long term use of straightening iron, leads to some side effects. These side effects can be dry fragile hair, hair fall and even thinning of hair. So, instead of using harsh treatment on hair to make their straight, natural black hairstyles are a better option. There are so many options of natural hair styles that one can wear different types of hair styles every day. Also, with the right hair accessories, one can make their hairstyle look even more attractive.
Apart from styling your hair into black natural styles, it is important to keep your hair in a great condition by keeping it clean and moisturized. Here are some natural black hair care tips. Make sure you at least wash your hair and scalp clean with a suitable shampoo. To condition your hair use a mild conditioner, and twice a month use a natural hair mask. Also, following hot oil treatment with olive oil helps to keep the tresses in ultimate shape. Make sure the last rinse of the hair is always is not with hot water.
Haircuts to Make the Hair Manageable
If you have overgrown hair, or want a low maintenance style then getting a short haircut is the best bet. A short haircut like a pixie cut looks very cute, and is great as natural hairstyle for short hair. You can wear it at work or outdoors too. Check out pictures of Halle Berry and Rhianna's pixie cut to get an idea. Women with medium or long hair, can consider getting layered natural African-American hairstyles with some bangs. This will make your look nicer and more manageable.
Braid Hairstyles
Braids are perfect if you have greasy hair, and thus great lifesavers from a bad hair day. You can go with African-American natural hairstyles of braiding or go with some simple and faster to create braid hairstyles. Simple braid styles are English braid, French braid and fishbone braid. But, if you want long-lasting braid styles consider getting micro braids, cornrows or partial cornrows done.
Updo Styles
Updos are great hairstyles for work. There are various ways to create these natural hairstyles for black women. A simple way to do this is simply scoop the hair and fix them in a messy bun. You can also create French bun or best create a nice braided updo style. However, if you have very short hair, then it is not possible to create an updo. Then you can simply comb your hair, and create a simple high ponytail style. If there are too many loose hair strands coming out, then secure them with snap clips.
Accessories to Style Hair
There are many ways to accessorize hairstyles for short hair. You can simply comb the hair back and wear headband, or create micro braids and secure them with beads. Also, you can use head scarves or bandannas. Make sure you always keep various hair accessories handy, so that you can use them whenever required.
Many women with Afro hair are now more and more shifting towards natural black hairstyles, and discarding the harsh chemical based treatments. So, you can also carry the African-American natural hair styles and maintain your hair in a great condition, in a natural and healthy way.
