How to Thin Hair without Thinning Shears
Too much of hair can be difficult to manage and style. However, there are many ways to make your thick hair thinner and more manageable. While you are thinning your hair you can also consider getting a good haircut. But, if you don't wish to cut your hair or can't go to a salon, then there are many ways and products which you can use at home conveniently. Thinning shears are the most common way of removing bulk from the hair. However, there are many other ways to thin out hair without thinning scissors. Here are some of them...
Get Choppy Layers
If you have overgrown hair, consider getting some choppy layered haircut. For choppy layering the stylist will cut the hair using point cutting. This is mostly done on medium to long hair. Here the hair will be cut inwards at a steep angle. This technique is good for people with curly hair, as it gives more control on cutting the curls.
Get a Razor Cut
Razor cutting is another hair cutting technique that will help you get rid of the bulk of the hair. For this cut, the stylist will run a razor through various hair sections to cut down the bulk of the hair. You can get a razor cut without having to reduce the length. The stylist will fix a razor in a tool and then hold section of the hair and start removing hair from that hair section, and then move on to another hair section. Razor cut hair look beautiful, as they have soft wispy ends. Plus, people sometimes get beautiful curly or wavy ends, which makes the hair look even more beautiful.
Use Mayonnaise
Mayonnaise greatly conditions the hair and helps to weigh them down. So, if you have thick hair then the result will be sleek looking manageable hair. Mayonnaise makes an excellent hair mask. Mayonnaise is rich and when applied to hair will greatly condition it. To thin hair simply wet your hair and apply a thick coat of fresh mayonnaise to it. Cover your complete hair and then tie it in a bun. Secure the hair with a disposable shower cap and keep it for 2 hours. Then wash the hair completely. This will reduce the hair volume. Keep using this remedy each day for a week's period, and you will get sleeker looking hair.
Using Hair Styling Products
There are many hair conditioners and shampoos and some special products like serums, creams and wax. These products when applied to the hair will make it look sleeker. However, you will need to experiment with various products before you find the right products which suit your hair type and gives you the result.
Styling with a Flat Iron
With a flat iron you can also make the hair look thinner. To do this, first wash and condition your hair. Then on damp hair apply loads of hair serum. Cover the entire hair with serum. Then take a section of the hair and straighten it out using a flat iron. This way straighten out the entire hair. Now, make a sleek cool style to make the hair look thinner. Take good amount of the front hair and separate this section from the rest of the hair. Now, make a bump hairstyle with the front section, and secure it with some hair clips. Then comb down the hair. Straightening and bump hairstyle together will surely make your hair look thinner and sleeker.
Those were the different ways that will help you reduce the volume of your thin hair and make it look sleeker. So, either go to a salon to get it cut choppy or with a razor. Or try out some hair styling products or home remedies to thin the hair. And enjoy your sleeker looking hair!
