So for those of you who want to do something different this time and are looking for some creative wall painting ideas, given below are a few which are sure to take care of your needs.

Warm Colors or Cool Colors?
Do you know that the kind of painting color we use on the walls can actually affect and alter our mood? Well, the colors are basically classified into two categories i.e. warm colors and cool colors. Warm colors such as orange, red, maroon and dark brown, add a lot of energy and vibrancy to our surroundings. This makes them an ideal choice for painting rooms in which we carry on with our social activities such as living rooms and dining rooms. On the other hand, cool colors such as green, blue, white and gray, have a very soothing and calming effect on our mind. This makes cool colors an ideal choice for painting bedroom walls. Cool colors have the capability of giving the rooms a very serene and relaxing feel.

If White is Your Choice...
There are many people who like to paint the walls in white color. However, white looks good only if the look of the room is ultra modern and there is minimal furniture and accessories used. Otherwise white can give a very sterile look to your room. In case white is your favorite color and you want to stick to your choice, a good idea would be use white which has a hint of some other light color such as pink or peach in it.

Want to Experiment?
Have an accent wall in the room. A simple way to do that is to paint one wall in a bold, bright interior paint color and the rest in lighter shades. Besides this, there are a number of other ways you can experiment with the accent wall in your room.
  • Instead of painting one of the walls in a bright color, you can consider painting the ceiling of the room with it, to give the room a dramatic touch.
  • Draw a huge geometric shape such as a square or a circle on one of the walls and then use the bold accent color to fill it.
  • If your room is spacious, you can consider painting the accent wall with a metallic color or even black color. Make sure to keep the furniture and accessories of contrasting colors, if you plan to keep the accent wall black or metallic so that the room does not look over the top.
  • If one of the walls in the room has a number of cabinets or a book-shelf, you can paint it in the accent color and the cabinets or book-shelf in a contrasting color. This will bring the entire focus of the room towards the accessories displayed on these cabinets.
If Nature Appeals You...
Most of us today lead very stressful lives. Hardly do we get time to go on a holiday - to the mountains, to the countryside, to be one with nature. So, why not bring the essence of nature in your bedroom? Want to know how? Simple, by choosing interior paint schemes with a combination of green and earthy colors. You can choose any of the earthy colors such as brown, terracotta and umber and paint all the walls with it. Earthy colors lend a feeling of security to the atmosphere and hence provide comfort to the inhabitants. At various places on the wall, you can paint bright green leaves, shrubs and trees. Another idea is to paint four trees at the corners of the room and a few leaves on the ceiling.

When it comes to wall painting techniques and designs, sky is the limit. You just have to think out of box and you will soon come up with your own experimental ways to paint wall colors. All the best!
