How to Put on Mascara
Many women get frustrated with their mascara because of the occasional clumps that get left behind on the eyelashes. If that's the case with you, try this. Before you apply the mascara, take the brush and a tissue. Place the tissue paper around the brush and gently roll the brush around the tissue. Make sure you don't roll it too much or else the entire mascara will come off. Now that you know how to avoid the ugly clumps, let's take a look at how to put on mascara correctly.
Flawlessly Apply Mascara
I have met many makeup artists explaining me the different ways to apply mascara, but only one technique seemed right. To know the real execution on how to put mascara doesn't depend on the brand of the cosmetics. The best mascara for you should be based on the appearance of your lashes. Here are some tips and tricks to get it right every time.
Pick the Right Mascara: Take your time in the beauty aisle when you are picking a mascara for yourself. What you need to concentrate on is, if the cosmetic brand has waterproof mascara or not and if it provides more length and volume. Select one shade darker than your lashes because it gives a better look. If you're a blonde, choose a brown colored mascara. And if you have black or dark brown hair, always go for black colored mascara.
Curl, Curl, Curl: There are women who are blessed with curled eyelashes, but alas, not all are so lucky. And that's why man invented the eyelash curler. Read the directions on how to use an eyelash curler properly before you start. You don't want to hurt your eyes or pluck out your lashes.
Now Comes the Application: Take the top eyelashes first, as it is the easiest to color. Although, there are makeup stylists who tell otherwise. You can take the bottom eyelashes or the top ones, whichever works for you. There is no right or wrong way here. Start with the base of your eyelashes and slowly apply the mascara. This will leave your lashes with a good base coat. But make sure you don't apply more than one layer. If the mascara is not giving the right coat in one application, then the mascara needs to be replaced.
Now come the bottom lashes. Keep a folded tissue paper under your bottom eyelashes. Vertically hold the wand and just touch your lashes. This will give you a natural look rather than a "spiky" looking appearance. For an intense look, you can do more than one coats on your bottom lashes. Try not to hold the wand horizontally, as it will make smudge marks under the eyes and will make your skin look darker. If you wish to avoid this, there's a trick to make your lower lashes look defined, without making them look heavy. Apply a coat of dark brown mascara over your bottom lashes.
Separate the Lashes: Buy an eyelash separator brush if you don't have one, because it works wonders. Trust me ladies, you won't regret it. Be as gentle as possible and carefully separate any lashes that have come together in a group. Read the directions on how to use the eyelash separator brush carefully and then use it.
While removing the mascara, use an oil-based mascara remover, so that you avoid pulling the lashes. Not all brands are made alike and their end results are always different from one another. Try different brands before you settle for the one that suits you best.
