Leather Trousers: Men and Women Leather Pants
Apart from a suit, leather apparel may be the most stylish trend ever to be known by humankind. Leather can be used as any part of attire and accessories, ranging from shirts and trousers to belts and shoes.
Leather attire has always stood for strength, style and being one with the crowd, or being different - whatever is the current fad at the time. As time went by, certain types of leather attire has become attached to rebellion and a call for freedom.
While leather is mostly used for jackets and other accessories like purses and wallets, leather trousers are also available for those who wish to do something different with their wardrobe.
Leather trousers and leather jackets are not only a fashion statement, but in some cases they are used for security and safety. Leather jackets and leather gloves are commonly used as preventive measures in the case of motorcycle accidents. In fact, a good leather glove can actually help against the motorcyclist suffering major injuries on the palms, wrists and hands during a motorcycle accident. This kind of clothing is called 'leathers' which consist of a one piece or two piece jacket and trousers. These attires are not inclined towards fashion, but more towards safety of the motorcycle driver.
Another type of leather trousers, although not in the complete and true sense of leather trousers, is a leather chap. These consist of a leather belt and leather covering for the trousers. These leather chaps are commonly related to the cowboy culture, and are used during work or while riding a horse.
Like any attire, how a person looks in leather pants depends on the cut and fitting. Other than that, these trousers are available in a lot of designs, cuts, fits and even colors. In fact, these trousers are quite akin to jeans. Both compliment a great body shape like nothing else can ever will.
However, like everything else in life, leather trousers and pants have some disadvantages. For one, keeping a pair of such trousers clean is much more difficult than keeping a normal pair of trousers.
How a leather trouser looks on the body even depends on the type of leather used. Hard leather is normally used for motorcycle gear, where safety is more of a concern as compared to fashion and looking good. However, from the fashion point of view, soft leather is suppler and hugs the body shape in a more beautiful manner.
There are a number of outlets that sell leather trousers. And as obvious it is, these are more expensive as compared to trousers made from other material. But one cannot deny the fact that they are way durable and stylish as compared to normal trousers.
Leather trousers are available for men as well as women. However, there would be certain differences in the fabric and design of the leather according to the gender.
