Long Hairstyles for Thin Hair
Everyone craves to have thick, long and super shiny locks. But many of us have to be content with hair that is fine and thin. Thin fine hair is notoriously difficult to style and most hairstyles become flat and floppy within a few hours. The texture of hair you possess cannot be changed, so the best thing to do is to find hairstyles that can be created with fine hair that gives you the appearance of having a fuller mane of hair. The biggest problem with thin hair is that it becomes limp and greasy very soon. And when you have thin long hair, hair tends to become stringy with spit ends. To combat this, you need to choose a good hair styling product like a texturizing serum or a volumizing mousse.
Long Hairstyles for Thin Fine Hair
Pouf Hairstyle
A great hairstyle for thin hair is the pouf hairstyle. To create this hairstyle, first wash and condition your hair with a volumizing shampoo and conditioner. While the hair is still wet, take a coin sized amount of volumizing mousse in your hand and apply it through your hair strands. Next blow dry hair straight with a paddle hair brush and blow dryer. Make sure that when you blow dry the ends of your hair, you flip the hair outwards. This will give your hair a fuller look. Next apply a bit of texturizing cream to the hair at the front of your head. Take a 4 inch section of hair from the front and backcomb it with a fine toothed comb. Once you have created sufficient height, lightly smooth out the hair and pin it back with bobby pins or hair clips. Leave the rest of the hair as it is. This is a kind of half up half down hairstyle and looks great for both casual and formal occasions.
Twisted Updo Hairstyle
A neat and sleek hairstyle like a twisted updo is a great hair style for thin and fine textured hair. A sleek twist hairstyle does not require you to backcomb your hair or use volumizing hair products. To get this style first shampoo and condition hair with an anti fizz shampoo and shine-enhancing conditioner. Apply a bit of shine serum or gel to your hair and then create an extreme side part. Brush the hair back with a fine toothed comb and gather it into a ponytail at the center of your head at the back. Next separate the ponytail into two equal sections and twist the sections around each other upwards. Tuck the ends of the twisted sections inwards and secure the hairstyle with bobby pins. Spritz with strong hold hairspray to set the style. This is one of the best long hairstyles for thin straight hair and is just right for a formal event.
Wavy Hairstyle
A great way to fake thick hair is to create a wavy hairstyle. If you want to look chic, then you need to create a wavy look with loose curls. To create this cute hairstyle for thin hair, first shampoo and condition your hair with a volumizing shampoo and anti fizz conditioner. Let hair dry naturally and run a small amount of shine-enhancing serum through the length of your hair. Once this is done, center part your hair and apply a bit of volumizing mousse to the front of your hair. Now wrap one inch section of hair around a medium barreled curling iron, holding the iron vertically. Once hair is curled, unwrap the section of hair and allow it to cool. Curl the rest of your hair in a similar way and run your fingers through your hair to separate the curls. Do not brush or comb hair after you are done curling it, or your curls will turn flat.
Messy Ponytail
There are times when you need to create an easy hairstyle that looks elegant. A messy ponytail is such a hairstyle that can be created in a matter of minutes and you do not need freshly washed hair to style it. To create this hairstyle, you need to brush your hair to get rid of any knots and tangles. Next apply a bit of texturizing cream to the roots of your hair and blow dry only the front of your head with a paddle brush and blow dryer. Gather hair into a low ponytail at the nape of your head and secure with an elastic band. Next backcomb the tail of the ponytail so that hair texture is a bit rough and messy. Rake your fingers through the front of your head, to create volume at the crown. Spritz with a hairspray and you are done.
Long hairstyles for thin hair should be such that it enhances the bone structure of your face and makes your hair appear fuller and thicker. Haircuts for thin hair, like long layers work well to give hair a thicker appearance. Avoid very short layers around your face as this will make your hair look thinner at the bottom. Opt for long layered hairstyles for thin hair instead.
