A dress whose hemline ends anywhere from below the knees to the calf is considered as a tea length. There are many designs and styles of these dresses, but the length of the hemline is always the same. Here we are going to discuss these dresses and what are some of the latest designs and styles.
Tea Length Dress Styles
There are many design and styles of tea length dresses to choose from. They are also available in a wide variety of fabrics ranging from silk, satin, velvet, superfine net, lace to organza, cotton and linen. The type of fabric you choose will have a bearing on the drape and fall of the dress. One of the most popular design is the A-line dress. This kind of design is suitable for women who have larger hips and thighs and want to conceal it. The dress is fitted at the top with any kind of neckline from V to halter and then falls straight from the waist. Cotton, raw silk and duponi silk are some good fabric materials that looks great with such designs. These dresses makes great garden party dresses for women.

Jewel toned colors like emerald, electric blue and amethyst are good choices in such designs of tea length dresses and they can even be worn as cocktail dresses. Such dresses are very feminine and the strapless shoulders is balanced by the modest length of the dress. These makes them excellent tea length dresses for weddings. Many designers offer an array of tea length wedding dresses in fabrics like taffeta, jacquard, lace and satin which are just right for a casual or semi formal wedding. The added benefit of wearing a tea length wedding dress is that it is comfortable and gives the bride more mobility.
Tea length dresses that have a shift dress like pattern is also quite in vogue. These dresses when paired with modest heels and a jacket, make excellent dresses to wear to work for women. The length of these dresses is such that it is most appropriate and suitable to wear to work. One very important thing to remember when choosing a tea length dress for work is to stick to a neutral color palette and to avoid any ditsy or loud prints. Such printed dresses are more appropriate for attending a garden party.
