Whitening Cream for Sensitive Areas
Ever wondered how celebrities manage to have a flawless skin throughout? For the rest of us, an even complexion throughout our body always remains a distant dream. However, if the dark areas of your body are keeping you from flaunting your otherwise great body, then perhaps you should do something about it. Most people trust the whitening creams to solve their problem. However, before recommending these creams to you, we would like to mention a few facts about these skin creams.
Causes of Variations in Skin Color
You must be aware that a pigment called melanin is responsible for determining the color of our skin. The greater the amount of melanin, darker the skin. The areas of the body such as armpits, neck, inner thighs and public region tend to be darker than the rest of the body. The reason is that these areas are rarely exposed to the sun. The skin covering of these areas is also very thin as compared to the rest of the body. As these areas are mostly covered, the linings of the clothes rub against these areas, making them even darker. Frequent shaving of body hair on these parts also leads to darkening of these areas.
Whitening Cream for Sensitive Areas
A normal whitening cream for face does not work for the sensitive areas of body. This is mainly due to the difference in the texture of the skin. These areas benefit the most from using bleaching creams. Since, melanin is responsible for the color of the skin, face whitening creams or any whitening creams for that matter, work by reducing the content of melanin in the skin. Earlier, a chemical called hydroquinone was used in skin bleaching creams for its properties to lighten skin. However, it was later banned by FDA, when its dangerous side effects were discovered. Hydroquinone is responsible for liver damage, leukemia, thyroid problems and other such lethal diseases. Hence, these days most skin whitening creams are formulated without hydroquinone. Similarly, other chemicals used in them also have the potential to induce similar effects.
Whitening Sensitive Areas Naturally
As you must have realized, whitening creams with chemical composition may not be your answer to lightening dark areas on your body. Underarm whitening creams with kojic acid ester as an active ingredient is effective and harmless, as it is derived from Japanese mushrooms. Similarly, formulations with Asafetida extract, an Indian herb prevents the formation of melanin in body. Also whitening cream for armpit with vitamin C are effective against dark areas as it restricts the amount of melanin in the skin. Glycolic acid, a compound found in sugarcane is a great natural exfoliant. Thus, creams with glycolic acid help in reducing darkness of the sensitive areas.
A good and healthy lifestyle works better than any whitening cream. Also, health and hygiene play a pivotal role in determining the complexion of your body. Regular cleaning and skin care is necessary, if you wish to lighten your skin and keep it healthy. Also, do not forget to follow a balanced diet, because what you eat reflects on your body (no matter where!).
