Hair Dye Colors
Most people use hair dye to cover gray hair while others do it to undergo a complete makeover. No matter what the ultimate purpose is, hair dyes can be great for achieving a certain look and style. It can immediately up your glamor quotient and get you noticed. However, choosing a right hair color is of immense importance as it can make or kill your impression. Besides, if you go for permanent hair coloring and are unsatisfied with the results, then be assured that you will have to live with such hair until your hair outgrows the color, which is quite a long time. Hence, it is necessary to educate yourself about the types of various dyes available as well as their compatibility with your skin tone. In this article, we have explained the types as well as some tips on choosing the best hair color for you.
Type of Hair Dyes
There are primarily three types of hair dyes - permanent, long-lasting semi-permanent and semi-permanent. Most people do not like to go for the permanent hair dyes simply because it colors the hair permanently. Hence you cannot reverse the process once done. Also, if you have used a dark-colored dye, then getting it off can prove to be very difficult. The second type or the long-lasting semi-permanent type sustains even up to 20 washes and still retains color. The ones with the shortest staying power are the semi-permanent varieties. These fade after just 6 or 12 washes, making these good for first time users who are open to experimentation with colors.
Colors
Nowadays, there are just so many colors available as far as hair dyes are concerned. Thus, choosing a particular hair color can prove to be an uphill task. For example, you will find many shades within a primary color itself. Let's take brown for instance, in that you will get chestnut brown, light brown, dark brown, mahogany brown, cinnamon brown and many more. Other popular hair colors are burgundy, black, blond, straw colored blond etc. You will even find unusual colors such as orange, pink, purple, green and more. Needless to say, flaunting such colors needs a fair amount of boldness.
Choosing the Best Hair Color for You
Many times, you might find people walking down the road who have hair color which just doesn't go with their skin tone, personality and other physical aspects. As hair colors are available in plenty of shades, it can be quite a daunting task to choose the right hair color for you. You can easily get confused with the shades in similar color family. However, hair color when used appropriately can accentuate features, bring out the best beauty in a person and flatter the appearance overall. Here are some tips to help you select the right hair color according to your complexion.
Light and Warm Complexion
People with such a skin tone are characterized by a beige, creamy or ivory complexion. Usually they have green, brown, amber or hazel colored eyes. For such people, colors like strawberry blond, beige blond, light auburn, light golden blond or golden blond are ideal. Such colors can also be accentuated with golden or red highlights.Medium and Deep Warm Complexion
Such persons will typically have complexions ranging from coppery, deep golden brown or tawny skin tones. The eye color is usually green, amber, cinnamon, topaz or coffee colored. For such people deep and rich luxurious colors are best suited. Therefore, colors such as dark golden brown, honey brown, chestnut, mahogany or copper colors are ideal. These can also be accentuated with golden brown or red highlights.Cool Complexion
Such people usually tend to have rosy pink, alabaster, rose beige or even a pearly complexion. Eye color is typically blue, gray blue or even blue green. For such people colors like whitish or pale blond, silvery blond, light brown or taupe are best suited. The idea is to look for colors, which have an 'ash' or cool tone to them. These hair colors can be accentuated with a lighter ash or silver blond streaks.Medium and Deep Cool Complexion
Such persons have olive, dark brown, dark olive, ebony skin tones. Eye color can range from blue-green, dark green, dark blue, brown as well as black. The ideal hair colors in such people would be burgundy brown, dark brown, plum or even black. One can even highlight these colors by using burgundy or plum red streaks for better effect.
When it comes to cosmetic purposes, a hair color can be a nice way to make a style statement. However excessive usage or irresponsible usage can result in drying out as well as damaging hair follicles. This can cause a lot of people to lose hair in the process. Also, most of the earlier hair dyes used to contain harmful chemicals such as ammonia (which incidentally sped the bleaching and coloring process). However, due to health concerns raised by many people and organizations, nowadays most manufacturers are using ammonia free substitutes.
While choosing the color, it is important to consider all the above things. If you choose the right color, you will indeed end up looking like a million bucks. So, go ahead and grab the best hair color out there.
