Pressed Powder Vs. Loose Powder
You may not know how exactly to apply makeup foundation to get an even complexion. You may not know how to use concealers to hide the flaws on your skin. But anyone can easily apply a powder on the skin, which serves equally well as any foundation or concealer to give the facial skin an even tone. Yes! powders, with their numerous uses and easy application are a must have makeup item for all women.
When it comes to choosing powders, there are two options which women have i.e. pressed powder and loose powder. Which one is the better of the two? The following comparison will help you figure that out.
Loose Powder
Let's start with the loose powder first. Loose powder is applied on the skin with a soft, fluffy brush. Cheeks, forehead and chin are the main areas which should be properly covered with the loose powder. To get the perfect look, loose powder should always be applied after some base make-up, otherwise it can make the face look very unnaturally made-up.
Loose powder makeup is the ideal choice for women who have an oily skin. It can easily absorb the excess oil which builds up on the skin, thus giving the women with oily skin a nice glow sans all the extra shine which excess oil causes. Another advantage of loose powder is that it keeps the base make-up in place for a very long time. However, loose powder has some disadvantages too. If you look at any of the loose powder reviews, you will find women complaining of their face looking very unnatural due to application of loose powder as it is very difficult to get an even skin tone with it. And, if it's applied in excess, the fine lines and wrinkles become even more obvious. Another of its disadvantages is that loose powder is one cosmetic which you can not carry with you and apply outside as it can be very inconvenient to do the same.
Pressed Powder
Now, let's move forward to knowing what the pressed powder reviews have to say. For starters, pressed powder can be carried anywhere and that's the reason why you will find women of all ages using it. For those quick touch-ups, before an important client meeting or in between classes or before an interview, pressed powders are the perfect cosmetics as they are very convenient to carry and apply. Their biggest advantage - pressed powder for oily skin gives the same benefits as loose powder i.e. excess oil gets removed. One more place where pressed powder scores over loose powder is in hiding the imperfections of the face. If you know the perfect way to do pressed powder foundation make-up, all those unsightly blemishes, lines, wrinkles and spots can be covered by it!
The Verdict
Although these powders can make your skin look beautiful temporarily, yet in the long run, especially if you have an oily or sensitive skin, they can clog the pores and cause skin eruptions, pimples and acne. So, to avoid these skin conditions, washing all the powder and make-up on skin before sleeping is of utmost importance.
Coming back to which one of the two is good, for a natural looking skin, application of pressed powder over the liquid foundation is a better choice, especially if you are always on the go. However, if you like that dramatized porcelain like effect on your skin, go in for loose powder.
Hope the above comparison will help you make the right choice. Along with this beauty product, see to it that you select the right tools of application too. Large fluffy brushes make for much better powder applicators than the powder puffs that often come in packages along with the powder.
