When it comes to hairstyles and designs for men, there is a wide variety of alternatives to choose from, depending on what type and length of hair you have. Be it designs for short hair or long hair, you will certainly find the perfect haircut, which would match your personality and face. The main advantage of short haircuts is that you would not require much effort to wash and maintain them. The style of long haircuts for black men is long gone, however, there are few people who sport long hairstyles and create a different look from the crowd.
Cool Hair Styles for Black Men
360 Waves
This is one of the trendiest hairstyles that can be sported today, and it is sure to make heads turn. As the name suggests, this haircut consists of hair made like waves around the perimeter of the head. Earlier, this hairstyle was achieved by constantly brushing short hair, so it was named 'brush waves', but nowadays, there are many methods which can be used to get this hairdo. Onlookers may mistake it as a stylish wig.
The well-known 'Afro' Cut
Everyone knows the most renowned Afro cut. In this haircut, the hair is styled in such a way, that it creates a kind of a puff on the head. How big the puff can be depends on how long your hair is. Afro cuts can be flaunted by both African-American men as well as women. You simply need to ensure that proper care is being taken, once you have this hairdo. If you do not have the needed curls on your hair to make the Afro cut, you can easily get the curls after undergoing treatments in a beauty salon.
Cornrows
This is one of the most popular voguish hairdos that look good on both black as well as white people. In this hairstyle, the hair is made into tight plaits first, and the plaits are then set on the scalp as per the preference of the wearer. There is no typical design for setting braids on the scalp, you have the option of making detailed patterns and cornrow designs, according to your customizations. Moreover, this hairstyle also does not demand extra hair care and is really easy to maintain.
Fade Haircuts
There are different types of fade haircuts, also known as buzz cuts, which depend on how long your hair are. Some common types are shadow fade, temp fade, bald fade, etc. With just a little difference in all these hairstyles, the only thing common in them is that all haircuts are a bit thick at the top and get faded as they come down the head. The amount and style of hair at the top, is where the hairstyles vary.
Etched Haircuts
These haircuts consist of different kinds of designs and patterns made on the scalp with short hair. For getting an etched haircut done, you would have to go to the hairdresser, who would use an electric shear to make any designs you want. There are many shapes and hair designs for black men that can be made on short hair; such as triangles, stars, and even names. Etched haircuts are mostly made by teenagers and youngsters, who want to set a different mark in the crowd.
These are just some of the mostly used hair designs for Afro-American men. Some of these black hairstyles are even flaunted by celebrities like David Beckham, Jay-Z, Will Smith, and many other sportsmen.
