Causes

  • One of the causes, over which a person has no control is hereditary factors, i.e. if the parents acquired gray hair at a very young age, the same can be inherited by the person.
  • A person who is under stress or depression or leads a very busy lifestyle with no time to even take a break, may experience premature graying of hair.
  • Excessive exposure of the hair to the sun, pollution and dust, can all affect the melanin production in the body, causing this problem.
  • Excessive smoking, usage of cosmetics on the hair which have strong chemicals in them and a thyroid deficiency in the body are some of the other causes.
