Lowlights for Hair
Hair color has become a fashion requirement and you can hardly find anyone flaunting his natural hair color nowadays. Whether it is to disguise the gray and silver hair or to stay connected with the latest fashion trends of the world, hair coloring is the top most act that the beauty conscious people won't ever get fed up of. Using lowlights for hair is another way of making a fashion statement and has become quite popular with the youngsters and teens.
It is a fact that they are not as popular as the hair highlights, lowlights is one hair coloring techniques that has started to take the world in its stride. It's a beautiful technique of hair coloring that, if done properly and carefully, can add charm and glamor to the hair and personality of the bearer. What exactly are the lowlights in hair and when and how are they managed? Let's find out more.
Lowlights for the Hair
Any hair color that one adds must gel completely with the natural hair color. There are many people who over-highlight their hair and lose all its charm. It is not the case with the lowlights, as they are not much flashy as the highlights. Lowlights also called twilights, are in fact a better 'treatment' for the over highlighted hair because they add depth and warmth to the hair. Lowlights are the darker hues of hair that give a subtle variation to the hair and enhance the tone of the same. Lowlights are able to provide greater color shifts for all hair color types and textures.
Basically, colors selected are two shades darker than the original hair color, which makes the hair more beautiful and attractive than the common highlighted hair. Adding lowlights in hair is the excellent solution for the concurrent problem of gray hair and add that dramatic look to your appearance. Lowlights is also a great option to try during the winter season when your hair really need a serious help from the summer that you just spent on the beach. If done properly, it is a convenient option to do lowlights in the DIY way.
Choosing the Correct Lowlights
Lowlights can actually be done to hair of any type, length and texture, provided that the placement of the lowlights is right. But, for the fact that short hairstyles grow quickly, lowlights last longer with the long hairstyles. Where highlights are placed on top of the hair so as they can frame the face, lowlights look stunning when they are placed on the lower layers of the hair strands. One can also choose the lighter shades, but lowlights must be two shades darker than the original hair color, this way they look more appealing.
One can also choose various shades of a single hue to get versatility while blending of highlights and lowlights give a uniquely transition look for the season. It is best to avoid the hues for lowlights in hair, that could make the skin look pale and ill, it would be the biggest disaster as far as your styling is concerned. The cost is relatively low and there are better results expected when the person placing them is a genius and handy with the styling knowledge.
Choosing the best hair color is important. Little bit of copper or deeper blond lowlights will suit the best to the natural blonde along with caramel, bronze, beige or honey; while gray hair better be camouflaged with two to three shades darker hues. Brunets will look more attractive with the rich hues of brown and red while redheads will look sensational with colors like brunet and golden browns. Girls with black hair, try magenta, brunet or plums and strictly avoid the lighter shades as they will look really unnatural.
Hair care for lowlights in hair is just the same with any hair color. Using color preserving hair care products like shampoo and conditioner is one of them. If you take proper care of the lowlights on your hair, you will see that they last longer than the other hair coloring techniques.
