What to Wear for Your Body Shape
To be fashionable in one's attire does not always need expensive brands. The right fashion sense is something that is inbuilt in a person. Choosing the right attire for your body shape is something that one often overlooks and one always ends up buying clothes that don't really flatter a personality. No matter what the latest trends are all about, one always needs to pick clothes that enhance the features and silhouettes that highlight the positive points of a person. To choose an ensemble that compliments you in the best way possible, you need to select your clothes accordingly. Here some exclusive ideas to know what to wear for your body shape.
The Hourglass Shape:
Women who belong to this shape are probably the most envied by others! The hourglass shape is a dream for many and is you are naturally blessed with this shape, you would have a curvy figure and a proportionate body with slim hips. The hourglass shaped woman would fit into many styles with great ease. Such a woman can wear fitting jeans to show off her waistline or straight leg trousers. She can carry off halters or even tees. Basically, women who belong to this category can experiment with different fashion trends!
The Apple Shape:
Women who belong to this category would be heavier on the upper torso. Such women have a bigger bustline and larger waists as well. Well, choosing the right kind of attire for such a shape would require one to create a balanced look in terms of proportion. The apple shaped woman can wear tops with a comfort fit such as tunics with a V-neck. A fitted jacket can give a smart and professional touch. The apple shaped woman should opt for solid colors; and for those who love to wear dresses, they can go for A-line designs. Since women who belong to this category have slimmer legs, therefore, one can opt for knee-length skirts with formal tops. Avoid clingy tops or fancy fabrics. Choose a fabric with a nice fall that does not hug the body.
The Rectangle Shape:
Women who can be called rectangular in shape would have an athletic figure. Such women do not have the problem if they gain weight as it is distributed equally instead of only the waistline. Such a woman would have few curves. Being slender in build, women who belong to this category do not really have to fret about what they need to wear. Even then, one can enhance the looks further by wearing patterns that add to the dimension of the body. Dresses and full skirts will add to the fullness of the rectangle shape. Women can even opt for layered clothing, which is very much in vogue. Blouses with ruffles or peasant style tops with gypsy skirts suit the rectangular shaped woman. Basically, wearing striking patterns or interesting designs will help to break the straight lines of the rectangular shaped woman.
The Pear Shape:
Women who belong to this category would have a round figure with more weight on the hips. Such women would have narrow shoulders but heavier thighs. In short, they would be heavier on the bottom side. For this, the woman would need to opt for clothing with vertical lines. Dark colors should be worn for the bottom half and lighter shades should be used for the upper torso. In this case, one can opt for V-necks and long skirts. Straight skirts would help one to have a slimmer look for the hips. Here, one would need to balance the silhouette and bring attention to the upper torso. Wrap dresses and jackets that cover the hips are also an ideal option. Attractive prints for the upper area would also help one to balance out the heavier hips by taking attention away from the hip. Pants in this case, should be boot cuts worn with longer tops. The idea over here would be to have the eye movement towards the upper area of the body.
The Petite Shape:
Petite women can enhance their looks with some simple ideas! Women who belong to this category are short and have smaller frames. So, basically, petite women need to wear clothes that fit well. Shirts with vertical lines will create an illusion of a slightly taller body. Necklines for the tops can be U-shape or even V-shape. Garments should always be structured in lightweight fabrics. Heavy fabrics will only make you look uncomfortable. Shorter and petite women should avoid wearing short skirts despite their slender figure. Short skirts suit women with long legs; therefore, you can opt for a knee-length fitting skirt and pair it with medium-sized heels. Belts should always be narrow, anything bling would only appear odd on the body of a petite woman. For office wear, one can select pants with straight legs and a neat cut. Bags can be small to medium-sized.
Whatever may be the current shape of your body, you only need to balance out the proportions by selecting clothing that blends well with your personality and highlights the best in you. The next time you shop, don't buy a brand only because it looks good in the advertisements. Happy shopping!
