The wrap dress is a very versatile dress as it can be worn to work as well as evening wear. There are many wrap dress designs and the best thing is that wrap dresses are slimming. Plus size women can also wear wrap dresses and look sexy and elegant. The wrap dress was first introduced by famous fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg in 1970 and it became an instant hit. A wrap dress is basically a dress that has no closures on the front, and the two edges of the fabric are wrapped around the body and then tied at the side, under the bust or at the waist. Jersey Wrap Dress
One of the most popular patterns of wrap dress is the jersey wrap dress that is made with jersey material in one solid color or in a pattern. Jersey wrap dress in neutral hues are worn by women to office and their main advantage is that it does not crease and looks very flattering. It enhances the bustline and makes large hips appear slimmer. Jersey wrap dresses can be worn as casual summer dresses too.
Long Sleeve Wrap Dress
A long sleeved or quarter sleeve wrap dress looks great in the winter when you need to keep yourself warm. These are ideal as evening wear for the cold winter months, when you do not want to conceal your sharp winter dress under layers of sweaters and stoles. Long sleeve wrap evening dress pattern in cashmere and soft wool are very much in vogue and they can be paired with silk or nylon stockings and booties for a smart look.
Kimono Wrap Dress

It is a flamboyant style with asymmetrical hemline and three fourth balloon sleeves that comes in different colors and patterns. A mock wrap dress is made to look like a wrap dress but it actually has no front openings and comes with closures at the side. These wrap dresses are very much popular with young woman. Mock wrap dresses are available in a variety of styles and designs and you can find them in any good women's clothing boutique.
Silk Wrap Dress
Silk wrap dress is classic and timeless and it's great to be worn in the evening. A watercolor print silk wrap dress is a good investment and many designers stock these. Silk wrap dresses can either be knee length or floor length ones with a narrow v neck. If you search online, you can find many vintage wrap dress pattern that you can even sew at home.
