How to Apply Liquid Foundation
Everyone doesn't really have perfect and healthy skin, that makes you look like a celebrity. In fact, most celebrities don't really look as good in real life, the way they do on the red carpet. And there is only one answer to deal with this - makeup! Yes, makeup helps to deal with and camouflage all those visible imperfections that are present on our face and body. And one of the most important constituents of a makeup kit is the makeup foundation. And when it comes to foundation, one of the types of foundation that has gained maximum favor is liquid foundation. But, many women are baffled when it comes to using this foundation. Before we go on to answering that question, let us try and understand how to choose the best foundation makeup.
Applying Liquid Foundation
Before we learn more about applying a foundation, we need to ensure that we pick the one that suits our skin best. This is because even if your application technique is flawless, if you happen to choose the wrong foundation, you'll end up looking disastrous. This is because what may be the best foundation for oily skin will obviously not also be the best foundation for dry skin. Thus, you need to check for the type of foundation and also the color. Holding the bottle against your cheek or testing the color on the back of your hand is not the way to go about it. You need to brush a little bit of it on your cheek before you finalize on one. It is preferable to pick a foundation that is closest to your skin color or slightly lighter, because darker foundations may hide your imperfections but will more likely stand out and make it look more like a mask rather than a foundation. So ensure that you choose your foundation makeup after some conscious deliberation.
1 When you wish to apply liquid foundation with a brush, then you need to first ensure that you pick the best foundation brush. Usually, when it comes to liquid foundation, a stippling brush works best. Take the foundation and place it on your hand. Then, dip the tip of the brush in the foundation and then, using broad strokes, blend the foundation into the skin working from the center of the face towards the hairline. Start from the nose and then, move towards the hairline so that you do not look patchy near the nose and the mouth. Initially, it may be a little difficult to use a brush because it takes some getting used to, so you may also blend in the foundation with the help of your fingers.
2 Applying a liquid foundation makeup with a sponge is quite easy, because a sponge helps to attain a more uniform look. Also, a sponge is the ideal way to go if you want a uniform but light look. Apply a few drops of the foundation on the face like on the nose, cheeks, chin and forehead. Then, take the sponge and blend the foundation into the skin working outwards. One of the main downsides of using a sponge is that there may be quite a bit of wastage, as the sponge tends to soak up some of the foundation.
3 One of the most comfortable way is with the help of your fingers. This is because it gives you more flexibility and ensures that it's easier for you to control where and with how much pressure to apply to your face. Thus, if you are to use your fingers, it's as good as using the best liquid foundation because the end effect is great! You can eventually use a sponge once you are nearly done, so as to make it look more uniform because your fingers or fingertips may not be able to pull that off.
This was all about applying liquid foundation flawlessly with the help of various tools to achieve a flawless look. Many women have differing opinions about what tool to use, however, whether it is a brush, a sponge or simply your fingers, you need to decide what works best for you. Just ensure that you try to make your makeup look as natural as possible.
