How to Get Over Your Ex
Too many memories, is what it all boils down to. Too many good times spent and the thought that you may never have them back can really dampen the spirits of a lot of us. And relationship breakups are pretty sudden that way and the whole balance of life gets disrupted.
Tips on Forgetting About Your Ex
Stop Crying Your Heart Out
Or was it crying your eyes out? Well either way, the point here is that you need to stop feeling sorry for yourself and stop living in the past if you want to know how to get over a crush. It may be simple for me to suggest that you look to the future with anticipation and what not, but that really is the best thing you can do. You need to first get out of your own entrapment of self-loathing to take the steps to get over your ex.
Get Active
Getting over a break up means that you have to stop thinking about your recently severed relationship and occupy your mind with positive and more constructive line of thinking. Get a hobby or work a few hours extra. This way you can stop thinking about where you went wrong in the relationship.
Get His/Her Old Stuff Out
This point sparks a lot of debate, but I have no doubts in my mind that getting rid of all your ex's stuff - either by returning it or burning it - is a pretty effective answer. This way, you have none of their stuff lying around the house which you may accidentally stumble upon and end up hankering over.
Get Out!
Staying indoors will scarcely help your cause. What you need to do is get a few friends together and go out and have some fun. Being with your friends can be a therapeutic feeling as you may feel better to be out and it will help you keep your mind off the relationship breakup.
Workout
So, if you are badly hurting inside, take it all out on the gym equipment. Working out is a physical activity which will help you relieve the stress and ease the frustration of trying to get over a break up. And if you can build a few muscles along the way, that is always a welcome bit of self improvement.
Do Not Fall for the Rebound Trap
A lot of people's pet solution to the whole getting over issue is to date the first person they meet. Rebound relationships never truly work because the attraction and the chemistry that a relationship needs in order to survive is simply not there. Getting into a rebound relationship only leads to your new partner being annoyed by your constant comparisons and recollections and this relationship too will end badly. Do not fall into this trap even no matter what.
So these were some important tips for getting over a breakup. How to get over you ex? It is a tough question indeed. But, a little help from your friends, and a bit of self-help are the key to feeling better.
